Her Gone Life

Recently I attend a Kinect for Xbox 360 Showcase to learn about, and of course play, the latest games in fitness, family and playful learning. As most of my readers know, I like to play video games and it seems my son is also turning into a little gamer.

Since the event was family friendly, I decided to take my son to help me test out the game. From the moment we entered Skylight West, my son was in game playing mode. We made sure to visit all the gaming stations and our top 2 gaming picks are!





Double Fine Happy Action Theater (800 Microsoft Points or $10) on Kinect for Xbox 360 is a series of 18 vibrant activities that engages players of all ages. With “Happy Action Theater,” there are no menus, no instructions and no rules. There is no wrong way to play and there are no winners or losers. Just walk in front of the Kinect sensor and play. The environments intuitively respond to your body movements.

I LOVED the movement element of this game and think it's prefect for families with younger children. Not only does the game encourages movement and coordination, it also supports cooperative play for up to six players. As you can see in the video my 3 year son was able to play with 8 year Alex, daughter of Linda of NYC Single Mom. Family game night with everyone!





Kinect Sesame Street TV - is a revolutionary new two-way TV experience exclusive to Kinect for Xbox 360 that allows children to literally jump into Sesame Street and interact with favorite characters, by helping with tasks like counting with Grover, learning letters with Cookie Monster and exploring Elmo’s World.

I LOVE the educational element of Sesame Street TV. While my son was just excited to interact with the Sesame Street characters, I was impressed how it worked along the same curriculum with the Sesame Street show to teach my son about movement, letters, etc.

I also liked that Sesame Street TV offered different options. Kids can play the games using gestures or their voices or just watch a Sesame Street episode.

While these two games are our favorites of the night, the other games are just as awesome. Some of the other family friendly game we played and liked are:


Kinect Star Wars ($49.99) allows fans to physically hone their Jedi skills, wield the power of the Force in their hands, pilot iconic ships and vehicles, rampage as a vicious rancor monster, or even dance with iconic Star Wars characters. All controller-free power of Kinect for Xbox 360.

I was hoping to get more time playing this game but my son was distracted by the live C-3PO and R2-D2 walking around. I figured I could always play the game later. It seemed more important to introduce my son to iconic figures and start his jedi training. LOL


Kinect Rush: A Disney•Pixar Adventure ($49.99) Families and fans can experience the worlds of five Disney•Pixar films. Players can team up with characters from “The Incredibles,” “Ratatouille,” “Up,” “Cars” and “Toy Story” to solve puzzles and uncover hidden secrets. Other features of the game

Kinectimals Now With Bears ($49.99 Game / $14.99 Xbox LIVE downloadable add-on content) is the sequel to the "Kinectimals” game. Adding to the original five feline cubs, “Kinectimals Now with Bears” features a new island of cuddly bear cubs ready for new adventures and interactions, along with five additional cat species. On both islands, you can unlock collectibles to personalize your gameplay experience. Other features of the game

As you can see there's lots of awesome Kinect for Xbox 360 game for families being released this year. With so many options for families it will be easy to plan a family game night. Happy gaming!
