By July 21, 2015 ,

This past weekend one of the summer’s biggest blockbusters – Ant-Man, opened in theaters in Dolby Atmos. I attended an advance screening and can highly recommend you take your family to see it.

Ant-Man is the latest Marvel movie to be released in Dolby Atmos, so you’ll hear the wind brushing your cheek and other sounding impact while watching the movie. Trust me, you'll be amazed when Ant-Man shrinks down for a battle or when he enters the ant world. The sounds in each scene in Dolby Atmos brings you right into the moment.

Check out this behind-the-scenes video, “The Sounds of Marvel’s Ant-Man" that features director Peyton Reed, composer Christophe Beck, and writer Adam McKay, along with several key characters from the film including Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, and Evangeline Lilly, as they discuss the overwhelming importance of sound within Ant-Man.

The sound allows the audience to immerse themselves in the idea that they too are shrinking down to the size of an ant. Michael Douglas proclaims Dolby as “being his hero”, in the realm of movie making, while Christophe Beck hopes that “all of his movies play in Dolby Atmos”, from here on out.

This video really encapsulates the advantages of Dolby Atmos and its importance to film makers.

Dolby Atmos delivers moving audio—sound that can be precisely placed and moved anywhere in three-dimensional space, including overhead. It brings entertainment alive all around the audience in a powerfully immersive and emotive experience.

Since its introduction in the cinema in 2012, Dolby Atmos has been embraced by all the major Hollywood studios, 11 Academy Award® winning directors, and 23 Academy Award winning sound mixers, among others. Now people can enjoy Dolby Atmos in the cinema, in their home theaters, and on mobile devices.
