San Andreas Movie Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos

By October 26, 2015 ,

Earlier this year Warner Bros. released San Andreas as their first movie in Dolby Cinema using the combo Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos surround sound technology.

Note: I'm part of Dolby influencer program and will share information and news about their products. However any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.

If you've seen Warner Bros. San Andreas in theaters then you know that all that Dolby technology helped you feel all the earthquake actions and effects.

Now get ready to enjoy San Andreas, the fast-paced action thriller that had audiences on the edge of their seats in theatres, at home since it's now available on Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos.

The movie follows a search and rescue helicopter pilot (Dwayne Johnson) and his estranged wife (Carla Gugino) who have to make a dangerous journey across California to rescue their daughter (Alexandra Daddario) after the San Andreas fault finally gives.

Viewers can get a sense of how Dolby Atmos really improves the viewing experience early on; the movie's first major earthquake sequence takes place at the Hoover Dam, where a quake rocks a previously undetected fault line and brings down the massive dam as tourists flee to escape.

This scene boasts thudding bass in the form of cracking concrete and crashing waves. Dolby Atmos height channels are most active in the dam's tunnel, while driving electric guitars really wake up front right and left.
