Space Storytelling at Sugar Hill Children’s Museum
This weekend we visited the Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art & Storytelling for the "Blast Off Into Storytelling: Imagining Futures" Workshop. It was so fun!
Note: I was invited as media to this event. However any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.
This was our first time visiting Sugar Hill Children’s Museum, so we were excited to learn what they offer for families.
The Sugar Hill Museum is designed to nurture the curiosity and creative spirit of children. The Museum provides opportunities for children to engage with the work of accomplished artists and storytellers, as well as create and share their own.
We started our visit by meeting a visiting Artist who helped us make astronaut helmets.
My son loved making and embellishing his own space helmet to get ready for story time.
After the kids made their helmet, it was time to get ready to hear the story!
Soon an astronaut came down from "space" to meet the kids and read "Blast Off"
The "Blast Off" story itself was great for the kids since tells a tale of imagination. During the reading the kids were able to join in and read along during parts of the story.
My son (and the other kids) really enjoyed the crafting and storytelling fun.
Besides crafting and storytelling the Sugar Hill Children’s Museum offers exhibits and a creative workshop open to kids and their families. Clearly we need to plan another visit to check those out!
