Her Gone Life

When I first learned about Disney MOANA, I was SO EXCITED. I love that Disney is featuring more strong female characters with a diverse background. So when I heard the call of the sea (aka email from Disney) for the MOANA movie press junket, I HAD to say yes!

Note: Disney and ABC TV invited me on this all expense paid trip to Los Angeles for the Moana Event and ABC TV Event. While I will share different events and activities during the trip, any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.


That's right! I'm going walk the red carpet at the MOANA premiere PLUS interview the movie talent including Auli'i Cravalho (voice of “Moana”), Nicole Scherzinger (voice of Sina) and Dwayne Johnson (voice of “Maui”)


Now if you've read any of my posts, then you know how I FEEL about The Rock. But beyond fandom, I know he is biracial (like my son) and has great respect for his Samoan/Polynesian heritage. So it's beyond exciting to have him be part of the film.


But that's not all. I'll also interview the Directors Ron Clements & John Musker, Producer Osnat Shurer, PLUS Opetaia Foa'i and Lin-Manuel Miranda, who are behind the music of MOANA.

I know that Disney have done TONS of research for MOANA and I look froward to seeing how they put it all together.

Created by a small team at Walt Disney Animation Studios in a unique, fast-paced style that blends CG and traditional hand-drawn animation, the short explores the importance of finding balance in daily life. “Inner Workings” opens on Nov. 23, 2016, in front of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Moana.

MOVIE SYNOPSIS

Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows exactly why.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people.

During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli‘i Cravalho) meets the mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder.

Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity.
