Walking Disney's Moana Red Carpet & Premiere Party

By November 16, 2016 ,

While in L.A for the Disney's Moana Event, one of my amazing experiences was walking the red (really blue) carpet before attending the World Premiere screening at the El Capitan Theatre.

Walking Disney Moana Red Carpet and Premiere Party

Note: Disney and ABC TV invited me on this all expense paid trip to Los Angeles for the Moana Event and ABC TV Event. While I will share different events and activities during the trip, any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.

To say that I was excited is an under statement. The whole area was designed with a Moana and Polynesian theme, which was so beautiful to see. Since part of the movie story-line is about Moana's connection to the sea, I wore a dress that represented water with "wavy" lines.

You can't tell in the photo but my dress sparkled and had an ombre color scheme from light to dark grey at the bottom! I was really pleased with how I looked walking the carpet into the Premiere Party, along with the other bloggers.

Of course we had to take group photos while on the carpet. Those ladies are so fun!

But it was time for me to "work" the carpet and check out the party activities! Once inside, I enjoyed...

.....various Polynesian inspired dishes from snacks to full meals.

..... Polynesian inspired crafts including making Puka shells necklaces/bracelets and crowns with leaves.

..... Getting a Disney Moana "tattoo". There was a few to choose from but the boat was the one for me. I'm all about taking journeys!

.....Watching various Polynesian dance performances.

.....Having a VR experience with the Kakamora's. Ok this was an unexpected treat. I was able to interact with the cute (but deadly) Kakamora's on their boat. It was SO fun.

There were a few more areas to enjoy but I had to find my seat for Disney's Moana World Premiere screening. I was so excited to watch the film and see the full story unfold.

To start the screening, Opetaia Foa'i, a musician who worked with Lin-Manuel Miranda to develop songs for Moana, performed songs from the film with his band that included his daughter.

The songs and dancing filled the El Capitan Theatre. It gave my chills to get a glimpse into this culture and see their spirit.

The performance really helped prepare us to take the journey into the film. Which is SO good, SO inspiring and a must see when it opens. I'll give my full review in another post.

After walking the carpet, being at the premiere party and attending the screening, I felt I had such a overwhelming awesome night. But there was to be a little bit more.

On my way out, I see Auli'i Cravalho (voice of Moana) and Nicole Scherzinger (voice of Sina, Moana's mom). I interviewed both ladies while on this trip, which I'll share in another post. They were both super sweet and took time to pose for a photo with me.

I was so honored to see how they interacted with each other and the fans who came to see them. Auli'i especially was really sweet and took time out for even her littlest fan.

What a way to end such an inspiring night! I'm so honored I was invited to cover Disney's Moana World Premiere event. It was a night of memories.
